Welcome: your Eurostitch renewed!
As the new publisher of Eurostitch I would like to welcome you at Eisma Businessmedia bv and inform you about your renewed business magazine Eurostitch.
Eisma Businessmedia bv., which has been located in Leeuwarden in the Netherlands as a publisher of specialist magazines for over 100 years, is very happy that Eurostitch has been taken over from Uitgeverij Eurostitch bv in Almere as of September 2008.
The introduction of Eurostitch means a reinforcement of the ‘portfolio communication and image’ of Eisma Businessmedia, which also includes the well-known specialist magazines Sign+Silkscreen magazine, P|F and DigiTales.
Eisma Businessmedia bv has specialised in the transfer of know-how for business-to business-communication. After all, expertise is an increasingly important factor in the dynamics of the business community. Eisma Businessmedia makes its own contribution to this, with its ever increasing number of specialist information products and services. We consider independence as a very important aspect. It gives room to employees, management and shareholders to grow individually and collectively on the basis of trust, independence and performance. The editorial content is a mix of “need-to-know” and “nice-to-know” information, so that you as a subscriber and advertiser will be informed well about developments in your branch! In the course of 2009 the website of Eurostitch will also be renewed and enriched, so that you as a reader will be served even better! Increased profits from DTG machines
Your Embroidery Services Ltd. have some good news for all current and future users of DTG direct to product ink jet printing machines. Because of two new developments regarding ink you will be able to save money and establish a new profit centre.
The all NEW WIMS (White Ink Management System) revolutionises the way ink is used to clean the print heads. In essence all ink jet printers use the ink to clean the print head by forcing it through the system. This waste ink normally goes into a reservoir and is then emptied away just like pouring money straight down the drain. Under normal circumstances there is no way round this but times have changed because the latest version of WIMS actually recycles the white ink back into the tank for future use ensuring a massive saving. To give you some idea of how much ink you can save with WIMS just consider that a cleaning cycle uses about 5ml of ink and a machine may need 5 cycles per day. Yes, that’s 25ml a day but now multiply that by days, weeks, months and years and then by how much you pay for ink and the attraction is obvious but WIMS offers more. The system uses special pumps to drive the ink through the machine and this achieves two further benefits. Firstly it means that the ink system is pressurised to the optimum level creating a vacuum pressure reservoir which stops the pigment easily separating from the water based binder. Secondly the system delivers the ink to the print head at just the right pressure ensuring more consistent coverage and a reduced risk of the head and damper drying out. All in all the NEW WIMS is a fantastic addition to any machine ensuring a decrease in the amount of wasted ink and, therefore, an increase in profit.
Not satisfied with increasing profits for customers 'YES Ltd' and DTG are also giving users the opportunity to establish a new profit centre with the introduction of the new Eco-Solvent inks. Although solvent inks are not new they are making a debut in this industry not having been used in direct to product ink jet printers before. They offer a great advantage by opening up the small order, hard surface product market. They work well on most rigid hard surface products even those that normally have difficulty in accepting the ink. In a way the ink fuses to the surface of the product producing a more durable finish with an increased scratch resistance. There are a few products that may need pre-treatment but all in all the introduction of the new inks is a major breakthrough for this style of printing. The DTG machines were originally developed so that small numbers of items could be economically printed with a full colour image. With the introduction of the Eco-Solvent inks this has now been extended to a greater number of products.
If you are already a DTG user then these two new additions will be welcome news but if you are still at the stage of considering whether or not to take the plunge then NEW WIMS and Eco-Solvent inks should make the decision making process that little bit easier.

ALMERE, HOLLAND August 27, 2008 —A.W.T. World Trade Europe BV, a division of The A.W.T. World Trade Group and a global manufacturer of screen printing equipment and supplies, has released its newest textile screen printer in the Econo-Tex series, the Econo-Tex™ Automatic. More than a decade of research and development went into production of the new printer, designed to enable small and mid-sized printers to switch to high-speed automation easily and affordably.
The Econo-Tex Automatic includes many standard features that other automatics offer only as high-priced options and prints even the most intricate images with greater flexibility and creativity than ever before.
More Standard Features
Standard features include full touch-screen programming, park position for squeegee and floodbar, job-countdown function on the digital panel, and double-print capability, which can save printers thousands of dollars. These features are “options” on competing products, increasing a company’s purchasing costs and capital investments.
The Econo-Tex Automatic also offers two choices of drives: pneumatic or servo. Both offer unbeatable quality, performance and affordability, making it easy to achieve increased productivity and profitability. A.W.T. offers two choices for maximum print area: 41 x 46 cm (16 x 18”) and 46 x 56 cm (18 x 22”).
Higher Quality, Increased Productivity
Econo-Tex Automatic printers are engineered to be heavy duty and vibration free, reducing the stress on spares and extending system life. The easy-to-use micro-registration system provides quick image alignment during multicolor production, and the hard-working Econo-Tex Automatic produces more than 75 dozen prints per hour. In addition, it offers indexer freewheeling, central off-contact adjustment, and tool-free changeover that lessens setup between jobs and minimizes downtime.
Greater Performance, Reliability
Equipped with up to 12 stations and a production rate exceeding 75 dozen pieces per hour, the Econo-Tex Automatic can reproduce the most intricate designs rapidly — without sacrificing quality. A companion textile dryer series, the Super-Turbo™ line of gas or electric units, will easily handle the volume for maximum throughput.
A.W.T. also has built in its exclusive Remote Diagnostics System. Using a phone modem or optional internet access, the unique Remote Diagnostics System links an onboard microprocessor to the A.W.T. central diagnostics computer for instant service worldwide. With this feature, expensive service calls can be reduced by as much as 80 percent.

Steve Aranoff, MGE Inc., to discuss value & ROI of finishing
Fairfax, Virginia — Rapid advancements in digital imaging technologies are changing the product landscape for imagers, and driving up the demand and profitability for digital finishing solutions, according to Steve Aranoff, Business Management Developer for SGIA member MGE Inc. (SGIA ’08 Booth 1853).
“Finishing is a necessary capability as the number of jobs printed directly onto rigid materials grows,” said Aranoff, who will lead an educational session, “Contour Cutting Brings Quick ROI (Thursday, October 16; 2:00 pm–3:15 pm), at SGIA ’08 (Atlanta; October 15–18, 2008).
“Since a finishing system typically costs $1,200 to $3,200 per month, and can be valued at more than $100 per hour of use, it’s easy to see why it’s becoming popular,” Aranoff said. “It takes well under one week of use to justify and begin to earn big profits from such a system.”
In addition to providing SGIA ’08 attendees with an overview of the current state of digital finishing technologies, Aranoff will cover the benefits and abilities of these finishing devices, which include contour cutters, as well as their integration in a streamlined workflow.
“Finishing can transform many businesses so much that owners often wonder why they didn’t get into it sooner,” Aranoff said.
For more specialty imagers, finishing options are a big solution in today’s competitive marketplace, said SGIA President/CEO Michael Robertson. “Image quality, which was once the primary competition point, is now a given,” Robertson says. “Leading imaging companies are looking beyond the print to find competitive advantages, and maximizing finishing capabilities to provide distinctive products is one way they’re accomplishing this.” Learn more about Aranoff’s session and register for the SGIA Expo at SGIA.org, Keyword: SGIA08.
